শুশুক ও বানর

 সমুদ্র যাত্রা বড়ই একঘেয়ে । তাই জাহাজে সময় কাটানোর জন্যে যাত্রীরা সমুদ্র যাত্রার সময় কোনো কুকুর বা বানর সঙ্গে নিয়ে যায়। একজন সমুদ্রযাত্রী একবার একটা বাঁদর নিয়ে জাহাজে উঠেছিল। জাহাজটা আফ্রিকার উপকূলে সুনিয়াস অন্তরীপের কাছাকাছি এসে ডুবে যায় । ফলে যাত্রীরা সব লাফিয়ে পড়ল জলে এবং সাতার কাটতে শুরু করল। সেই সঙ্গে বাদরটাও সাতার দিচ্ছিল।

একটা শুশুক বাদরটাকে মানুষ মনে করে তাকে পিঠে করে নিয়ে সাতরে ডাঙ্গায় উঠল। এথেন্সের বন্দর পিরাইউসে এসে সে বাদরটাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, তুমি কি এথেন্সের লোকঃ
বাদরটি বলল, তা তো বটেই, তাছাড়া আমার বাপ-মা এথেন্সের নামকরা লোক। শুশুক বলল, পিরাইউসের নাম শুনেছো তুমি?
বাঁদর ভাবল, পিরাউস বোধহয় কোনো লোকের নামই হবে, তাই সে অমনি সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বলে উঠল, কি বলছ তুমি নাম শুনবো না? সে যে আমার প্রাণের বন্ধু!
এই ডাহা মিথ্যে কথাটা শুনে শুশুক ভীষণ রেগে গেল এবং বাদরটাকে দূরে গভীর জলে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিল, যাতে সে সেখানে ডুবে মারা যায়।

উপদেশ - মিথাার আশ্রয় নিলে শেষ পর্যন্ত বাচা যাই না।

Sea voyages are very boring. So to pass the time on the ship, passengers take a dog or a monkey with them during the sea voyage. A sailor once took a monkey on board. The ship sank near the Cape of Sounion on the coast of Africa. As a result, all the passengers jumped into the water and started swimming. The monkey was also swimming along with it.

A dolphin mistook the monkey for a human being and carried him on its back and climbed ashore. When it arrived at Piraeus, the port of Athens, it asked the monkey, "Are you an Athenian?"

The monkey said, "Of course, and besides, my parents are famous people in Athens." The dolphin said, "Have you heard of the name Piraeus?"

The monkey thought that Piraeus must be the name of a person, so he immediately said, "What do you mean, you won't hear my name? He is my soulmate!"

 Hearing this blatant lie, the parrot became very angry and threw the monkey far away into deep water, so that it would drown and die.

Advice - If you take refuge in a lie, you will not be saved in the end.
