অভিজ্ঞতা

 

একদা এক মাঠের পাশে একটা খামার বাড়ি ছিল। খামার বাড়ির সামনে একটা কুকুর ঘুমাচ্ছিল। তাকে ঐরকমভাবে ঘুমােতে দেখে পা টিপে টিপে এক নেকড়ে এগিয়ে এল তাকে ধরে খাওয়ার জন্য। কুকুরটা ততােক্ষণে জেগে গেছে। নেকড়েটা সবে তার গায়ে কামড় বসাতে যাচ্ছে এমন সময় কুকুরটা একলাফে তার থেকে কিছুটা দূরে সরে গিয়ে বলল–শােন একটা ভাল কথা তােমাকে বলি। আমাকে এখন খেয়ে তােমার তেমন সুবিধে হবে না! আমি বড় রােগা হয়ে গেছি। পেটে বহু দিন ভালমন্দ পড়েনি। তাই আমাকে খেয়ে তােমার পেটও ভরবে না। আমার মালিকের বাড়িতে আজ মহাভােজ হবে, আর সেই ভােজের খাবার খেয়ে একটু মােটাসােটা হয়ে নিই আমি । তারপর এসে আমাকে খেও, তাতে মজা পাবে, পেটও বেশ ভরবে তােমার। কুকুরের এই কথা শুনে নেকড়ে তখন আর তাকে না খেয়ে চলে গেল।
পরদিন কুকুরের ভােজ খাওয়া হয়ে গেছে ভেবে আবার সেই নেকড়ে এল। এসে দেখল কুকুরটা খামার বাড়ির ছাদের ওপর নাক ডাকিয়ে ঘুমােচ্ছ। সে তখন কুকুরটাকে ডেকে বলল—আমি এসে গেছি, এবার তুমি নেমে এস। আমাদের চুক্তিমত কাজ কর। কুকুরটা তখন হাসতে হাসতে বলল, নিচে মাটিতে ঘুমন্ত অবস্থায় যদি আমাকে আবার কোনােদিন খেতে আস তাহলে আমার ভােজ খাওয়া পর্যন্ত আর অপেক্ষা করতে যেও না।

উপদেশ - অভিজ্ঞ লােকেরা বিপদে পড়ে বুদ্ধির জোরে রক্ষা পায়।

Once upon a time there was a farm house next to a field. A dog was sleeping in front of the farm house. Seeing him sleeping like that, a wolf came forward to catch him and eat him. The dog woke up at that moment. Just as the wolf was about to bite him, the dog suddenly moved away from him and said, “Listen, let me tell you something good. Eating me now will not do you much good! I have become very ill. My stomach has not felt good or bad for many days. So eating me will not fill your stomach. There will be a big feast at my master’s house today, and I will get a little fat by eating the food from that feast. Then come and eat me, you will enjoy it, and your stomach will also be quite full.” Hearing this from the dog, the wolf left without eating him.

The next day, thinking that the dog’s feast was over, the wolf came again. When he came, he saw the dog sleeping on the roof of the farm house, snoring.  He then called the dog and said, "I have arrived, now you come down. Do as we agreed." The dog then said, laughing, "If you ever come to eat me while I am sleeping on the ground, don't wait until I have eaten my meal."

Advice - Experienced people are saved by their intelligence in times of danger.
