 ছায়ামূর্তির বাড়ি

রাত দশটা বাজে। তানিয়া পড়ার টেবিলে বসে হঠাৎ টের পেলো জানালার পাশে কেউ দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। সে ভয়ে চিৎকার করে উঠে গেল, কিন্তু জানালার বাইরে কেউ ছিল না—শুধু গাছের ছায়া।

তানিয়া ভাবলো, "হয়তো বাতাসে গাছ揯 গা ছায়া পড়েছে।" সে আবার পড়ায় মন দিলো। কিন্তু ঠিক দশ মিনিট পর আবার সেই ছায়া! এবার যেন ছায়াটা নড়ছে!

তানিয়া সাহস করে বাইরে গেলো। ঘরের পেছনের দিকে একটা পুরনো পরিত্যক্ত বাড়ি ছিল, যেটা সবাই 'ছায়ামূর্তির বাড়ি' বলে ডাকতো। গ্রামের লোকেরা বলত, "ওখানে একটা আত্মা থাকে—যে কেবল সাহসীদেরই দেখা দেয়।"

তানিয়া কৌতূহল সামলাতে না পেরে পরদিন দুপুরে সেই বাড়িতে গেল। দরজাটা খোলা। ভেতরে ঢুকে সে দেখলো, সবকিছু ধুলো-মাটিতে ভরা, কিন্তু দেয়ালে এক জায়গায় লেখা—

> "ধন্যবাদ, তুমি সাহসী। এখন আমি মুক্ত।"

তানিয়া চমকে গেল। এরপর সে দেখলো, জানালার পাশে একটা পুরনো আয়না। আয়নায় তার পেছনে এক ছায়ামূর্তি ধীরে ধীরে মিলিয়ে যাচ্ছে।

তানিয়া কখনো ভয় পায়নি। কারণ সে বুঝতে পেরেছিল—এই আত্মাটা কাউকে কষ্ট দিতে আসেনি। শুধু মুক্তি চেয়েছিল।

সেই রাত থেকে আর কখনো ছায়াটা ফিরে আসেনি।

The Shadow's House

It was ten o'clock at night. Tanya was sitting at her study table when she suddenly felt someone standing by the window. She screamed in fear and got up, but there was no one outside the window—only the shadow of the tree.

Tanya thought, "Maybe the tree's shadow was cast by the wind." She returned to her reading. But exactly ten minutes later, that shadow appeared again! This time, it seemed to be moving!

Tanya bravely went outside. At the back of the house was an old abandoned house, which everyone called the 'Shadow's House.' The villagers said, "There is a spirit there—which only appears to the brave."

Unable to control her curiosity, Tanya went to that house the next afternoon. The door was open. When she entered, she saw that everything was covered in dust and dirt, but on the wall, in one place, it was written—

> "Thank you, you are brave. Now I am free."

Tanya was shocked. Then she saw an old mirror next to the window.  A shadow figure behind her in the mirror is slowly disappearing.

Tanya was never afraid. Because she understood that this spirit did not come to hurt anyone. It only wanted freedom.

The shadow never returned from that night.
