কলহ ও বিবাদ

 

খুব সরু একটা পথ দিয়ে হারকিউলিস যাচ্ছিলেন । পথে যেতে যেতে দেখলেন, পথের একধারে মাটিতে কি যেন একটা পড়ে রয়েছে । দেখতে অনেকটা আপেলের মত। কি খেয়াল হতেই হারকিউলিস পা দিয়ে সেটা চেপে দিলেন। আর কী আশ্চর্য! সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সেই বস্তুটা দ্বিগুণ বড় হয়ে গেল। তাই না দেখে হারকিউলিস খুব রেগে গেলেন ৷ বেশ জোরে একটা লাথি মারলেন তিনি তার ওপর ৷ এবং হাতের মুগুরটা দিয়ে এক ঘা কষালেন ৷ এর ফলে সেটা বেড়ে বেড়ে এত বড় হয়ে গেল যে তাতে সারা পথটা গেল আটকে । ব্যাপার-স্যাপার দেখে হাতের মুগুর ফেলে দিয়ে হারকিউলিস এক পাশে সরে গিয়ে অবাক হয়ে সেদিকে তাকিয়ে রইলেন । আর এই দেখে দেবী এথেনা হঠাৎ সেখানে আবির্ভূত হয়ে বললেন-এ কী করলে তুমি? তুমি না বীর! বীরের এই কি ধর্ম? এই যা তুমি সামনে দেখছ এ হচ্ছে কলহ । বিবাদের বা বিরোধের পরিণাম, রীতি ও তার মতিগতি । ওর সঙ্গে লাগতে না গেলে ও আগে মেমন ছিল, ঠিক তেমনই থাকত আর লাগতে গেলে ও ফুলে ফেপে কেমন বাড়তে থাকে তা তো তুমি নিজের চোখেই দেখলে ।

উপদেশ - কলহ ও বিবাদ জগতের সকল অনর্থের কারণ ।

Hercules was walking along a very narrow path. As he was walking, he saw something lying on the ground on one side of the path. It looked like an apple. Hercules immediately stepped on it and crushed it. And what a surprise! The object immediately doubled in size. Hercules became very angry. He kicked it very hard. And he struck it with his fist. As a result, it grew so big that it blocked the entire path. Seeing the situation, Hercules threw his fist aside and looked at it in surprise. And seeing this, the goddess Athena suddenly appeared there and said, "What have you done? You are not a hero! What is the religion of a hero? What you see in front of you is strife. The result of a dispute or conflict, its customs and its course."  If you don't get along with him, he would stay the same as before, and if you get along with him, you will see with your own eyes how he blossoms and grows.

Advice - Quarrels and disputes are the cause of all the evils in the world.
