মোরগ ও বেড়াল

 

একদা গ্রামে এক বেড়াল ছিল। সে গৃহস্থের বাড়িতে এটা ওটা চুরি করে খেতাে। একবার বেড়ালটা এক গৃহস্থের বাড়ি থেকে একটা মােরগ ধরে নিয়ে এল। এখন সে মােরগটাকে মেরে খেতে চাইল। কিন্তু শুধু শুধু তাে একজনকে মারা যায় না। একটা অজুহাত থাকা চাই তাে! সে তখন মােরগটাকে বললাে, তুই মারাত্মক একটা আপদ, রাতে ডেকে মানুষকে স্বস্তিতে ঘুমােতে দিস্ না। মােরগটি উত্তরে বলল, এ তাে আমি ভাল উদ্দেশ্যেই করি। রাত্রি শেষে আমার ডাকে ঘুম ভাঙলে মানুষরা সকাল সকাল তাদের দিনের কাজ শুরু করতে পারে।
বেড়াল তখন ভাবল—মােরগ কথাটা ঠিকই বলেছে। তাই কথাটা উড়িয়ে দিয়ে অন্য একটা দোষ ধরে বলল, তুই তোের মাবােনেদের সঙ্গে অত্যন্ত খারাপ ব্যবহার করি। অত্যাচার করি।
মােরগ তখন শান্ত স্বরে উত্তর দিল—এতেই আমার মালিক খুশি হয়, বুঝে দেখাে কথাটা, মালিকের সম্পদ বাড়ে। | বেড়াল তখন বিরক্তি প্রকাশ করে বলল—নাঃ তাের সঙ্গে মেলা ফ্যা ফ্যা করার সময় আমার নেই। কিন্তু তাই বলে আমার যে খিদে পুষে রাখতে হবে পেটে, তারও কোনাে মানে নেই—তােকে আমি খাবােই। এই বলে বেড়াল মােরগটার টুটি চেপে ধরে মেরে খেয়ে ফেলল।

উপদেশ - দুর্জনের ছলের অভাব হয় না।

Once upon a time there was a cat in a village. It used to steal this and that from the householder's house. Once the cat brought a rooster from the householder's house. Now it wanted to kill the rooster and eat it. But it doesn't just kill one person. It wants to have an excuse! It then said to the rooster, you are a serious troublemaker, you call at night and don't let people sleep peacefully. The rooster replied, I do this with good intentions. When I wake up at the end of the night, people can start their day's work in the morning.

The cat then thought - the rooster was right. So it dismissed the matter and blamed it on another thing, saying, you treat your sisters very badly. You torture them.

The rooster then replied in a calm voice - this makes my master happy, understand this, the master's wealth increases. |  The cat then expressed his annoyance and said, "No, I don't have time to argue with him. But that doesn't mean I have to keep my hunger in my stomach - I'll eat him." Saying this, the cat grabbed the chicken's leg and killed it.

Advice - The wicked are not short of tricks.
