একটি দাঁড়কাক অন্য কাকেরা

 এক ছিল দাঁড়কাক। নিজের জাতভাইদের চেয়ে সে ছিল বেশ জমকালাে আর বড়সড় দেখতে। তাই সে একদিন জাতভাইদের অবহেলা করে বড় কাকদের কাছে গেল। গিয়ে বললাে—ভাই আমি তােমাদেরই একজন, আমাকে তােমাদের দলে নাও । কাকের দল দেখল তাদের সঙ্গে এর কোন কিছুতেই মিল নেই, না চেহারায়, না গলার স্বরে। অতএব কাকের দল, দাঁড়কাককে বলল—যাও যাও, দূর হও এখান থেকে, মেলা ফ্যা ফ্যা না করে এখান থেকে মানে মানে কেটে পড়। কাকের দলের কাছে আঘাত পেয়ে দাঁড়কাকটা যখন তার জাতভাইদের কাছে ফিরে এল, তখন তারাও তাকে দূর দূর করে তাড়িয়ে দিল। জাতভাইরা বলল, তুমি আমাদের তুচ্ছ-তাচ্ছিল্য করে, ঘৃণা করে ত্যাগ করে চলে গিয়েছিলে আবার আমাদের কাছে এসেছ, তােমার লজ্জা করছে না? দূর হয়ে যাও আমাদের সামনে থেকে!

উপদেশ - নিজের বংশ পরিচয় দিতে কোনাে সঙ্কোচ করতে নেই।

There was a raven. He was much more handsome and big-looking than his fellow ravens. So one day, he ignored his fellow ravens and went to the big crows. He said, “Brother, I am one of you, take me into your group.” The crows saw that he had nothing in common with them, neither in appearance nor in voice. Therefore, the crows said to the raven, “Go away, get away from here, get out of here without any fuss.” When the raven returned to his fellow ravens after being hurt by the crows, they also chased him away. The fellow ravens said, “You despised us, hated us, abandoned us, and left, and now you have come to us again. Are you not ashamed? Get away from us!”
