পিঁপড়ে কেন চুরি করে?
পিপড়েরা আগে এমন চোর ছিল না। প্রথম দিকটায় তারা মানুষের মতই ব্যবহার করতাে। মানুষের মতই চাষবাস করত এবং সৎ জীবন-যাপন করত। কিন্তু তারা নিজেদের পরিশ্রমলব্ধ জিনিসে সন্তুষ্ট সা না থেকে লােভে পড়ে অপরের দ্রব্য চুরি করতে শুরু করল।
দেবতা জিউস তাদের এই মতিগতি দেখে তাদেরকে-আমরা এখন যে ছােট ছােট পিপড়ে দেখি সেই কীট-এ পরিণত করলেন।
পিঁপড়েদের দেহ পাল্টে গেল। তবুও তাদের স্বভাব পাল্টালাে না—এদিকে ওদিকে ঘুরে ফিরে এখনও তারা সেই আগের স্বভাব মতই অপরের শ্রমলব্ধ যব-গমের দানা, চিনি, গুড় সব চুরি করে নিজের বাসায় নিয়ে যায়।
উপদেশ - শাস্তি পেলেও দুর্জনদের স্বভাব বদলায় না।
Ants were not such thieves before. In the beginning, they behaved like humans. They farmed like humans and lived an honest life. But they were not satisfied with the things they earned by their own labor and started stealing other people's things out of greed.
Seeing this attitude of theirs, the god Zeus turned them into the insects we see now as small ants.
The bodies of the ants changed. Yet their nature did not change—they still steal barley-wheat grains, sugar, and jaggery, which were earned by the labor of others, and take them to their homes, just like their previous nature.
Advice - Even after being punished, the nature of the wicked does not change.
