এক শূকরী ও এক কুকুরী

 

একদা এক কুকুরী ও এক শূকরীর মধ্যে প্রচণ্ড তর্কাতর্কি চলছিল। তর্কটা হচ্ছিল এই নিয়ে যে কার বাচ্চা সহজেই ভূমিষ্ঠ হয়। কুকুরীটি বলল, শুনে রাখাে—যত চারপেয়ে জন্তু আছে তাদের মধ্যে সবার চেয়ে বেশি সহজে এবং জলদি আমার পেট থেকে বাচ্চা বেরােয়।
শূকরীটিও সহজে ছাড়বার পাত্রী নয়। সেও চুপ করে থাকতে পারল না। সে আরও এক ধাপ গলা চড়িয়ে বলল, তা বেশ তাে, ভাল কথা, কিন্তু একথা তুমি অস্বীকার করতে পার , তােমাদের বাচ্চাদের তখন চোখ ফোটে না, কিছুই দেখতে পায় না তারা। ঐ বাচ্চাদের বড়ই কষ্ট হয়। আর তােমার সব বাচ্চাগুলাে বাঁচেও না। তাই তাড়াতাড়ি এরকম বাচ্চার জন্ম দিয়ে কী লাভ হয় তােমার?

উপদেশ - হেলাফেলার কাজ নিখুঁত হয় না।

Once upon a time, a dog and a pig were having a heated argument. The argument was about whose baby was born easily. The dog said, "Listen, I give birth to my baby more easily and quickly than any other four-legged animal."

The pig was also not one to be easily abandoned. She could not remain silent either. She went one step further and said, "That is very good, but you can deny this, your babies do not open their eyes at that time, they cannot see anything. Those babies suffer a lot. And not all your babies survive. So what is the use of giving birth to such babies so quickly?"
