ষাঁড় আর ব্যাঙ

 

এক জলার ধারে এক ব্যাঙ পরিবার বাস করত । সেই ব্যাঙ পরিবারে অনেক বাচ্চা ছিল । একদিন একটি ব্যাঙের বাচ্চা জলার পাশে স্যাতসেতে মাঠে ঘুরতে গেছিল । সেই মাঠে তখন একটা ষাড় চলছিল । বিশাল যাড়টাকে দেখে বাচ্চা ব্যাঙটি প্রথমটায় একটু হকচকিয়ে গেল। পরে সাহস করে দুর থেকে তাকে ভাল করে দেখতে লাগল । আর যতই দেখতে লাগল ততোই অবাক হয়ে গেল । তারপর এক সময় সে ঘরে ফিরে এল ৷

ফিরে এসে ব্যাঙের বাচ্চাটি তার মাকে বলল, মা, মা, আজকে মাঠে আমি এক পেন্লায় জানোয়ার দেখে এলাম । সে যে কতো বড় আর কতো মোটা তা না দেখলে বিশ্বাসই হবে না তোমার ।

ব্যাঙ বাচ্চাটির মা তখন একটু অহঙ্কারের স্বরে বলল-ওমা, কী বললি? সে আমার চেয়েও বড়? বাচ্চাটি একটু ব্যঙ্গ করে বলল- আরে, কি বলছ, মা, তুমি! সে তোমার চেয়ে অনেক অনেক গুণ বড়।

মা-ব্যাঙটি তখন তার পেটটা ফুলিয়ে বলল, এই এ্যাত বড়?

বাচ্চা ব্যাঙটি হো হো করে তাচ্ছিল্যের স্বরে হেসে বলল- হাসালে তুমি, মা, এ তার একশ ভাগের এক ভাগও না। মা-ব্যাঙটি তখন তার পেটটা আরও ফুলিয়ে বলল- _চেয়ে দ্যাখ এবার, এত বড় নিশ্চয়ই নয়! বাচ্চা ব্যাঙটি তখন হাসতে হাসতে বলল- মা, তুমি হাজার চেষ্টা করলেও তার মত বিরাট হতে পারবে না।

ব্যাঙ-বাচ্চাটির এই কথা শুনে মা-ব্যাঙ রেগেমেগে তার পেটটা আরও বড়, আরও বড় করে ফুলাতে যেতেই হঠাৎ ফটাস্‌ করে ফেটে গেল। আর পেট ফেটে যেতে মা ব্যাঙের সব নাড়িভুঁড়ি আর রক্তে জায়গায়টা ভরে গেল । মা-ব্যাঙটি মারা গেল।

উপদেশ - অহঙ্কার ও অনুকরণ অনেক সময় বিপদ ডেকে আনে।



A frog family lived by a pond. That frog family had many children. One day, a baby frog went to the field next to the pond to play. A bull was walking in that field at that time. Seeing the huge animal, the baby frog was a little scared at first. Then he dared to look at it from a distance. And the more he looked, the more surprised he became. Then one day he returned home.

When he returned, the baby frog said to his mother, "Mom, mom, today I saw a big animal in the field. You won't believe it until you see how big and fat he is."

The baby frog's mother then said in a slightly arrogant tone, "Mom, what did you say? He's bigger than me?" The child said a little sarcastically, "Hey, what are you saying, mom! He's many, many times bigger than you."

The mother frog then puffed out her belly and said, "Is this so big?"

 The baby frog laughed in a mocking tone and said, "If you laugh, mother, this is not even a hundredth part of him." The mother frog then puffed out her belly even more and said, "Look, it's definitely not that big!" The baby frog then laughed and said, "Mom, even if you try a thousand times, you won't be able to be as big as him." Hearing this from the baby frog, the mother frog got angry and puffed out her belly even bigger and bigger, when suddenly it burst. And as the belly burst, all the intestines and blood of the mother frog filled the space. The mother frog died. Advice - Pride and imitation often lead to danger.
